If you live within Mt. Angel city limits, your city property taxes provide a free full-service card.

Some people whose address includes “Mt. Angel, OR 97362” actually live outside city limits. You are only within the city limits if you or your rental property owner pays property taxes to the City of Mt. Angel. If you live outside city limits, you may apply for a basic, fee, or CARE card. (link)

Accepted forms of ID:

  • A current Oregon State Driver’s License or Identification Card showing current address.
  • Any photo ID AND verification of current address. Address verification may be any official document that includes your name and current address, such as mail postmarked within the last 30 days, an imprinted check, a lease, a current rent receipt or a utility bill.

  1. I live outside Mt. Angel city limits but live in Marion, Polk or Yamhill counties

There are three different types of library cards available for those who live outside the city limits of Mt. Angel:

Basic Card—If you live outside the city limits of Mt. Angel or in another city in Yamhill, Polk, or Marion counties that have libraries (yellow on the map), you may apply for a free basic card. Basic cards allow you to check out ten items and to place ten items on hold. They also provide free access to all online and digital library services, like using the library computers or checking out library e-books.

Fee Card—Your household may pay a fee for a card that allows access to the full range of services. For $60 per household per year, all members of the household who reside at that address will get full access cards. Fee cards expire one year from the date the fee was paid.

C.A.R.E. Card—Create A Reader Everyday with a CARE card. Free to children ages 19 and younger, this card allows checkout of up to 25 items from the Children’s and Young Adult collections only. Children ages 16 and younger need the signature and ID of a parent or guardian to apply for a card.

If you own property within Mt. Angel city limits, you may be eligible for a full-service library card. This card allows owners of any type of property inside Mt. Angel city limits who pay city taxes a library card with the full range of services. Property must be owned, not leased, and proof of ownership must be presented. Taxpayer cards expire each year.

  1. I am an educator currently employed at a school or educational facility that operates in a school district in Marion, Polk or Yamhill counties

Educator Card: This card is available for educators who are currently employed at a school or educational facility (including homeschools) that operates within the CCRLS  service area.

Borrowing privileges:

  • Up to 50 items checked out on the account at any given time.
  • Up to 25 items on the holds list from libraries in the CCRLS system.
  • No overdue fines are charged on Educator cards.
  • NOT FOR PERSONAL USE. To be used for work/educational purposes only and exclusively by the person named on the card.
  • Patron is responsible for lost or damaged items and working our any payments due with employer.
  • Accounts owing $25 or more will not allow further checkout of materials.
  • Card expires annually and must be renewed by the card holder each year.

  1. I am a visitor from another location in Oregon

If you are a library card-holder from a participating Oregon library, you can get a library card and use other participating libraries across the state through the Oregon Library Passport Program. Link: https://www.olaweb.org/resource-sharing-committee

The underlying premise of the Passport Program is that cardholders of public libraries ought to be able to use other public libraries. The Passport Program is meant to be an exchange; a library extends service to users of other participating libraries, and vice versa.   • Why are there different levels of library cards?

City property taxes support each library in the CCRLS system. The different library card levels reflect the differences in property taxes paid by those who live inside and outside the city limits of Mt. Angel.

  • Why does it say “CCRLS” on Mt. Angel Public Library cards?

The Chemeketa Cooperative Regional Library Service (CCRLS) is a cooperative effort of 18 member libraries in the Central Willamette Valley of western Oregon.  CCRLS Library Cards can be used at any of the member libraries in the system. Explore CCRLS Libraries  (link to 6.3)

How Your Library Card Works

Lending Periods

  • DVDs: 1 week
  • Toddler Totes: 1 week
  • Magazines: 1 week
  • All other items: 3 weeks

Renewal Limits

  • All items may be renewed up to 3 times except in these cases:
    • The item is a new book
    • The item has been requested by someone else and there are less than two copies available for checkout

Total Item Limits per Card

  • Resident cards: 50 items
  • Taxpayer cards: 50 items
  • Fee cards: 50 items
  • CARE cards: 25 items from Children’s and/or Young Adult collections
  • Basic cards: 10 items

Checkout Limits by Item Type

  • Books: 50 maximum
  • DVDs: 10 maximum
  • Magazines: 10 maximum
  • CDs: 10 maximum
  • Audiobooks on CD: 10 maximum
  • Toddler Totes: 2 maximum

Hold Limits

  • Full-service cards: 25 holds
  • Basic cards: 10 holds

Daily Fines

  • Children’s books: .15 per day +
  • All other materials: .25 per day

Change my PIN

When you were given your library card, you were assigned a PIN. If you don’t know your PIN, try the last four digits of your phone number, with or without your lower case last initial (i.e. 1234 or 1234a). If you can’t figure out your PIN, please see a library staff member at the circulation desk for assistance. Thank you for understanding that we cannot give out PINs over the phone for security purposes. All PINs are case sensitive and may contain symbols, numbers and/or letters.

The Mt. Angel Public Library provides monthly delivery services to residents within the city limits of Mt. Angel who have difficulty reaching or using the library because of:

Home Delivery Program FAQ | Important Information

When will my library items be delivered?

  • Volunteers from the Mt. Angel Public Library will deliver books and other library materials once a month, on Wednesday afternoons between 12:00-3:00.
  • You will receive a printed schedule of delivery dates.
  •  At the time of delivery, volunteers will pick up your previous items. Please pack them in your labeled book bag (provided) for easy pick up.

How many items can I borrow?

  • You may have as many as you are able to realistically read/listen to over the month. Generally, the maximum is 25 items.

How do I request a special item?

  • You are welcome to call Mt. Angel Public Library at 503-845-6401 or email library.mountangel@ccrls.org for specific requests. 
  • If you would like to request a special item, please call/email at least one week prior to your scheduled delivery date. We will do our best to have the item(s) for your next checkout session.

What if I don’t like an item or author that was sent?

  • Please notify the Mt. Angel Public Library by phone call, email, or written note included with the returned items. 
  • Mention your preferences to the volunteers when they pick up and deliver books.
  • Use the orange bookmarks to rate items or send in booklists for order.  
  • Don’t be shy! We want to send you the very best.

How long can I keep the materials?

  • The regular loan period is one month. 
  • You may renew one or more of your items once.

What if I lose or damage an item?

  • If you lose or damage an item, please notify the volunteers who deliver your items. If necessary, the librarian will discuss replacement costs.

What if I will be gone at a scheduled delivery time?

  • If you will not be home at delivery time, please call or email the Mt. Angel Public Library at 503-845-6401 or library.mountangel@ccrls.org to let us know.

Silver Falls State Park

  • Parking pass for one vehicle and all occupants to park at Silver Falls State Park.
  • Three-day checkout period
  • Pass MUST be retuned directly to a staff member at the Mt. Angel Public Library Circulation Desk.
  • There is a $5.00 LATE FEE per DAY up to the price of the passes ($50.00)
  • Pass is ONLY available to patrons whose home library is Mt. Angel Public Library.

Gilbert House Children’s Museum

  • Admission for up to five people.
  • Three-day checkout period
  • Pass MUST be retuned directly to a staff member at the Mt. Angel Public 

Library Circulation Desk.

  • There is a $5.00 LATE FEE per DAY up to the price of the pass ($95.00)
  • Pass is ONLY available to patrons whose home library is Mt. Angel Public Library.

Evergreen Aviation & Space Museum

  • Admission for two individuals per card (4 total).
  • Children under 5 get in free.
  • Those under 17 must be accompanied by an adult.
  • Valid only for general admission and does NOT include additional paid events or activities such as tours or movies.
  • Three-day checkout period
  • Pass MUST be retuned directly to a staff member at the Mt. Angel Public Library Circulation Desk.
  • There is a $5.00 LATE FEE per DAY up to the price of the passes ($200.00)
  • Pass is ONLY available to patrons whose home library is Mt. Angel Public Library.

Cultural pass may be checked out for a 3-day period with no renewals. 
$5.00 late charge per day up to value of pass. Pass must be returned to the circulation desk at the Mt. Angel Public Library. 
Borrowers must be 18 years or older, must have a CCRLS card in good standing, and use Mt. Angel Public Library as their home library. 
Juvenile cards may not be used to check out passes. 
Patrons may call the Mt. Angel Public Library at 503-845-6401 to reserve a pass.

The Mt. Angel Public Library Community Room is available for rent at a nominal rate when it is not in use by the city.

Rules for Use:

  1. The Community Use Room will either, 1) be opened for the user; or 2) a key will be issued to the authorized user. If the key is not returned to City Hall within two (2) business days after the event, the user will be charged twenty-five dollars ($25.00) for each key not returned. If any key remains unreturned after fourteen (14) business days following the event, the user will be held responsible for all costs associated with re-keying the facility’s locks.
  2. The user is responsible for its reasonable use and safekeeping. Any City inventory (tables, chairs, etc.) must be cleaned and returned to their proper storage place. All decorations and garbage must be removed. If the facility is not returned to its original condition, the user will be charged for any additional cleaning at the actual cost of staff time and materials. 
  3. Decorations must NOT be attached to the walls or the ceilings of the City Buildings. Use of rice, confetti, glitter, or other small articles or similar objects used for decoration or any other purpose are prohibited. 
  4. Climbing or standing on any piece of furniture is prohibited. 
  5. Rental of the Community Meeting Room shall require a walkthrough with City Staff at a time that is mutually convenient before and after the rental. It is the applicant’s responsibility to make arrangements for this. Failure to do so may result in forfeiture of the deposit.
  6. Any group wishing to use the sound system or projection equipment must first obtain permission from the City Administrator or designee. The system may only be operated by authorized City personnel, and fee to cover the City’s cost will be assessed.
  7. Use of the Community Meeting Room must not interfere in any way with the conduct of City business. Disruptive or noisy groups will be required to leave the meeting room and will forfeit their fees and deposit.
  8. Availability of the room is at the discretion of the City. Food or beverage consumption in the room will be reviewed on a per reservation basis and subject to specific conditions of the City.
  9. A $100.00 cleaning deposit will be collected at the time of application. The deposit is fully refundable only if the room is left in a clean manner with no damage.
